What's in a name you might ask?

Well, for us, choosing the name Atelier Shoes™ was a way of expressing the essence of what it is we do, or more importantly, what it is that you do when you’re visiting us. The word “atelier” (pronounced atuh-lyey) is French for a workshop or studio, especially for an artist or a designer. And here, at Atelier Shoes Online Design Studio, you are the designer, and we provide the workshop. We invite you to play with our materials and use your imagination to create the perfect custom-designed pair of high-heeled shoes that are an expression of your individuality.

Atelier Shoes was created in December, 2007 in Denver, CO at an early holiday party when two friends got to talking about how much fun it would be to design a line of shoes of their own. After months of sketching shoes, testing prototypes and choosing fabric samples, Atelier Shoes began to evolve into a custom design shoe company where you, the client, get to call all the shots when it comes to your own fashion choices. Under this new concept, Atelier Shoes began offering shoe parties in December, 2007. Shortly thereafter, in January, 2009, Atelier Shoes launched its website, which features its Online Design Studio. Today, we continue to work on new shoe styles, updating materials and, of course, attending shoe parties where you can Design Your Pedestal.
